The complete truth behind me story. How I convienced and motivated my self.
Starting career as a Backend Software Engineer
After graduation, I aimed to become a full-stack engineer, with a stronger interest in backend. I applied to dozens of roles during the COVID-19 job market and joined a bootcamp mainly for exposure and networking, which eventually led me to a Backend Software Engineer role at a SaaS startup.
Outside of The Development Environment
"I like building APIs, mapping services, and follow the expectation to the dot. Can I use this for the 'other' side of the software development coin?"
As an engineer, we all have that satisfying moments when solving / delivering technical solutions. But for me, when occasionally working on side projects with friends, I feel more satisfied when figuring out the what and the why behind the solutions, compared to the how.
Master's Degree As The Next Pit Stop
"I applied to multiple universities with different majors, but still under the Software Development / Information Technology field, execpt this major. When I got the change to interview with them, I asked everything."
If product management were something I explored purely out of curiosity, pursuing a master's degree would not be the top option. When I first discovered this major, I was 100% unsure whether it was the right choice. Based on the curriculum, it is not directly aligned with software development. At that point, my options were either this program or an MBA if I wanted to seriously pursue a path that still aligns with the IT field.
Transitioned to Product Manager. Ready to Start!
With my experience as a software engineer, a master's degree in design management, and self-taught preparation, I'm ready to pour my knowledge and experience into delivering whats best for people.
